Tax
Counselors
In partnership with IRS and AARP, 7 tax counselors are trained
by the IRS to provide free income tax assistance in completion
of simple tax forms
Filing can be done electronically
Appointments are scheduled at the Shepherd's Center office Monday
through Thursday, beginning the first of February and continuing
until April 15
VCR-DVD
Tutor
Volunteer assistance is provided for operation of VCR and DVD
In-home instruction
Home
Handymen
Volunteer assistance with minor home repairs
Materials provided by home owner
Repairs can range from rewiring a light fixture to replacing
the plunger in the toilet to adjusting a door for locks and
closures
No outside work done
CarePartners
Partnership with Adult Center for Enrichment
Trained volunteers provide 3 hrs. weekly of respite for caregivers
Care teams help in spreading the volunteer responsibilities
Congregational designs can be created to meet individual care
needs
Leadership
Volunteers
Assist in all administrative and programmatic work - office
staff and program/service coordinators
Assist in the quarterly newsletter mailing
Assist with fund raising and the golf tournament
Serve as sponsor representatives to over 35 congregations
Trustees - have primary responsibility for all aspects of the
