SeniorNet received the "Outstanding Volunteer Program" of the year from The Volunteer Center of Greensboro in April. This honor recognizes the many volunteers (currently 86) who have been teaching computer usage to hundreds of older adults for the past twelve years. More than 160 volunteers, representatives from local nonprofits and corporations, and other active citizens in our community attended the Volunteer Center Recognition Celebration.  The purpose of the event was to celebrate volunteerism and honor outstanding volunteers in our community. 

The National SeniorNet Center, based in Virginia, is an international non-profit membership organization for seniors age 50 and better who want to learn computer skills to enhance their everyday lives and "to bring wisdom to the information age."

The Greensboro SeniorNet Learning Center is operated by more than 85 dedicated volunteers whose goal is to teach seniors how to use technology to make their lives fuller and more informed. Through our efforts we hope to build a community of individuals who use the computer to make their presence known in the world and to improve the quality of their lives and their community.

Inclement Weather Policy

SeniorNet Classes will be cancelled when Guilford County Schools are closed due to inclement weather. If the schools are delayed, Classes will continue as regularly scheduled. Tune to WFMY News 2 or visit www.digtriad.com for information on closings.
